Many new wineries are opening this year and even with the economy the way it is, some winemakers are being creative in coming up with new projects. Some wineries have been bought and sold by other vineyard owners, sometimes merging with one winery to create a bigger buzz for both.
Folks like Denise Slattery and Steve Michener have sold their winery although their future in wine is not over. The new owner has re-opened the 2nd street tasting room and vows to create a name for the winery and the location. This February three new tasting rooms opened their doors in the Marcus Whitman Hotel. There are even beer tasting rooms featuring micro brews and cigars.
